Thin-film technology was included in the list of the 50 best inventions of 2008 by Time magazine.
Because of its connotations, represents a very complementary technology to crystalline silicon, so its development represents an opportunity to strengthen other leaderships that are occurring in our environment. Conventional PV modules (silicon) due to its rigidity, does not allow solutions to all application scenarios, so this complementary technology application scenarios would raise energy efficiency, applications, that currently are impossible to meet.
INGESEA also believes in the future of thin film photovoltaic cells (CIGS). Ingesea currently leads a European project for manufacturing of CIGS thin cells and collaborating with other European partners in the implementation of a production line in Austria.
